March 21, 2011

Today was a beautiful day.  It was 60 degrees when I took Avah to preschool at 9 am.  It was quite windy out as well.  I stirpped the beds, washed all the sheets and hung them out on the clothesline.

John came home for lunch so after he ate, Avah and I walked him back to work.  Yes, we WALKED him back to work.  It is so incredibly nice to be so close to his work now.  One would think that I'm crazy as I say that but really, it's not bad.  You see, for the first approximately 26 months of our married life, he drove 2 hours EACH way to work EVERYDAY.  In rain, snow, sleet....whatever.  He then got moved to Columbus and then to Marion which cut his drive in half each time.  It's so nice that he's able to pop in at lunch and is home nearly on time everynight.  The kids are so happy about this.

After dinner, the whole family went for a walk toward the cow barns.  Toby got to go and was so happy to run, run, run.  He's getting so much better at being off his leash.....

When we got home, it was homework time and then bed.  Jude had another "yellow" day so he had an extra paper to do.  He's been having a ruff way to go lately in which we are trying to remedy....Pray for me.....

Good Night......

Seriously???

Today has been a blah kind of day.  I was so tired this morning.  I did not want to get out of bed.  This blasted daylight savings time is for the birds!  It never bothered me before but geez, it sure is now.  I managed to unload/reload the diswasher and fold a load of laundry.  Now, I'm trying to figure out what to do about dinner...I have chicken breast...any suggestions?

Here's someone else who's obviously affected by the lovely daylight savings time...

Darn the doughnut!!!

So, as I was out today getting required items for John's birthday dinner, I remember that he told me that they brought him doughnuts at work this am.  This made me think and think and think about doughnuts so, while I was at Merijer, I picked up one of these:

Now, while I am not proud nor happy with myself for doing this, I did manage to somewhat, redeem myself this afternoon by getting on the treadmill and accomplishing this:

And finally, for John's birtday dinner, we made Stuffed Chicken which is 4 points a serving on WW.  It has fresh spinach, sauteed onions and feta cheese in it.  It was very yummy but not the easiest thing to make.

That's it for the big birthday celebration at our house.  John isn't much for a big to do.....

Off to do homework and get the kiddies in bed.....

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

Today, is our fearless leader's birthday.....he is the most patient, amazing, kind, thoughtful, handsome man I know.  He thinks of us first and himself last.  He wanted a Kindle for his birthday so we got that a couple of weeks ago.  He downloaded the Bible and has been reading it faithfully everyday.  He is the light of our lives.

Avah and I made a cake for him today.  A Weight Watchers Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake.  Avah was a BIG help!  I don't know what I would do without her!

Avah gets to lick the beaters!!

We have no real plans for the rest of the day.  Will finish up laundry and clean up the kitchen.  It's pretty warm out so I think that we'll go for a walk as well :)

Captain's Log 13 March 2011

I'm new to this blogging thing so friends, please be patient with me....

I have so many things running through my mind right now as to what I want to share with everyone, I just don't know where to begin.  I guess I can begin with my latest endevour.....I have decided to, once again, attempt Weight Watchers.  I really strongly feel that this time will be different as my wonerful friend "T" created a Facebook page that I get support from.  At times, it may be sarcastic support from my friend "C" but, none the less, it's support.

This is day number 2 on Weight Watchers for me and my eating as been quite well.  I strayed from my points today by 1 point as we took the kids to McDonald's Playplace to blow off some energy and I consumed a hot fudge sundae.  On a brighter note, I finally got back on the treadmill tonight and made it 1.40 miles in 30 minutes burning 175 calories.  Yay, me!!

That's all for now....there's laundry to fold!!
